Actually, I liked AV and AB just for fun. I didn't especially want any of the grind rewards they offered, but I just played them for the heck of it.

What? Were you never formally accepted into the Glorious Brotherhood of Guild Warriors? You and the OP should meet me in LA D3 American, and leave your armor behind...

I first played Everquest 2, then WoW. Then much later I got into Guild Wars.
It was the same feeling for me. I love all the skills, all the possible builds, and all the colourful scenery and armour people are running around in.
It is something very different than the other two MMORPGs I've played and I think it was a wonderful idea of a game to make.
Thanks Anet for trying something different. It's very successful!

Welcome bro.
Just in time for Winterdays 2006 with snowball fights, candy canes, grog and plenty of grinding of low level enemies for goodies

AV and AB were fun. Waiting two hours for an AV game or 45 minutes for AB (unless it's late, in which case 4 hours = still no game) was not. Neither was getting pitted against the horde's top raid guild and their hunter who could kill my druid from full health with one aimed/multi/auto-shot volley.
Nevermind that WoW's lead designer is an ex-EQ raid junkie who literally believes PvP balance needs to be subverted so that raiders can feel "rewarded."
